What have you traded your pics for?

Only in Wisconsin can you get paid for a photo with CHEESE! I received 2 pounds of extra sharp chedder cheese yesterday for a 6x9 print that I gave to one of my girlfriends coworkers. She refers to it as here "Happy Place" photo.

So what's the stragest/oddest thing you have traded your services for?

Hm, I can't talk about that on a family forum
    Just kidding... sort of.
I've traded photos for other photos, paintings, and cd's. (Cd's that the person I was trading with did.)

I traded an 8x10 print for a tripod a few months ago.

Whenever I do photos at my gym because it's an open day or Halloween or something they give me an extra month membership (or more). I keep on telling them I do it for free but my membership is now running way into 2006.

When I do the photos of a wedding it is of course my wedding present to the happy couple but also a means of ensuring I get invited to the wedding feast after the ceremony..

Well I have traded photos for:
1: towing services for my vehicles
    2: repairs on my vehicles
    3: parts for my vehicles
4: repairs on my house (saved me $2,000 on my new roof!)

Many times I have traded a couple of 8x10's for a racer's T-shirt or Sweatshirt.

I've also done like JS and traded for car repairs.

Nothing really odd. Dead presidents mostly. But I also trade for highlights, cuts and waxing.

When I got my bill form the local dry cleaners last month there was a note on the bottom that read, "Larry, I'll trade you this months bill for a print of the Mail Pouch Barn." So I packaged up an 8x10 print and delivered it to the dry cleaners in exchage for the $26.75 bill. I think we both got a pretty good deal. The owner of the shop had seen my prints at the Covered Bridge Festival where I had a booth a couple of months ago. She collects pictures of barns. Not real strange, but I had never had it happen before.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Re: What have you traded your pics for?

Well, I was just paid for a photo editing job I did with a quart of B-B-Q sauce

The owner of the photo asked some people I know from work to edit an old photo he had. They don't have much exp. with PS yet, so they asked me to do it. It wasn't the greatest job in the world, but he was happy with it. Apperently this guy is know for his special homemade B-B-Q sauce and they always use it at the ball park in his town when they have a chicken B-B-Q. The woman who brought it to me said her husband was whining because he wanted to keep it. The guy doesn't make it all the time, and wont give his recipe to anyone. I can't wait to try this stuff out.

...that bartering for products and services must still be declared on your US tax return.

Sorry to have to do this, but I'm taking names AND screenshots, just in case I need to give ole' Uncle Sam some BIGGER FISH TO FRY when, er I mean IF they turn up the heat on me this tax season...

BTW, my bartering has been mostly for lighting and studio gear; CDs and free drinks in clubs from bands I've shot, haircuts (from stylists), and yes, let me be the first to admit it, sweet, uh, shall we say, adulation from appreciative models.

Let me ASSURE you, though, anything more physical than a kiss kiss was always done in the context of a genuine, loving relationship... ;)

Hmmm, now that I think about it, perhaps that was the only thing that made some of them stay with me for as long as they did. Ya think?

I got my D70 by shooting portraits of the band and dance teams at school for the last 4 yearts. The Alien Bee strobes for working in my TV studio doing an install during summer vacations. The best thing of all is the smiles on peoples faces when they get one of the portraits of their children or loved ones, although I do admit to likeing the cash more.

My latest trade was for two NorthWood Class 3A State Championship T-shirts....I have waited 30 years for those shirts...but the team just would not cooperate and win, they finally pulled it off in their 6th trip to the finals, with the most unlikly team 3-6 in regular season, then won 6 straight!
