Re: Drum Roll Please................. The First Annual View Finder Awards Winners Are...

First of all a big THANK YOU to Brian for taking on this task. A job well done Brian!

And second I am very humbled by the mention of my name along with some of those that I consider the cream of the crop here at PR. There are so many wonderful contributors on a regular basis here on all the forums, it is truly a difficult task to single out anyone. My very personal thanks to those that felt like I made a contribution worthy of attention during the last year. I always am able to come away from a session on PR with much more than I feel like I contribute. I have said it before but will repeat it here: Photography Review is the best site on the internet if you are looking to improve your photography in a positive caring environment. Now let's all double our efforts to make 2007 an even better year here on PR by making every post a positive contribution to the site. Thanks to everyone. I look forward to the this year and hope that I can actually come face to face with many more of you.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Brian, thats quite a task you took on and we appreciate your doing so. I'm surprised at my photo being voted favorite, but not surprised at Sebastians avatar voted tops along with Almos and Steves. I'm afraid if anyone finally met me they would be quite bored!!!!
Thanks for taking this on, Brian.
I have to reiterate what Old timer said. . . PhotographyReview is the best site out here for anyone looking to improve their skills in the best and most positive environment. I am not sure how it came to be this way, but this site is full of positive vibes and influence and for me, that was key to helping me progress in my photography.
btw, I feel Sebastian deserves at the very least an honorable mention for best technical advice.

Personally, I think Walterick's avatar is one of the best. As for Sebastian, simply a nasty case of hair envy if ever I've seen one...

Well, I reluctantly give up my Most Helpful Poster title, but Best Tech Advice is certainly a fair trade-off. Now that I'm shooting close to full time again, my advice to members here has become much more specific, so it only makes sense...

Congrats to the other winners and a big thanks to Brian for taking the time to set this whole this up!

    Brian,

    Great Job!

I have begun making preliminary choices for next year!

Hopefully greater participation will allow for categories such as humor to have an honoree. There were many more possibilities in that one than I thought originally.

Thanks again for your work and motivation.

    Awesome!

This is excellent! I'd never seen Gary's winning photo before and I agree that it is wonderful. I love it. And I'm happy to see that Old Timer's photo of the bike crank and chainring made it. That was one of my favorites for the year.

Thanks for making this happen, Brian. There's no way it could have happened without your effort and commitment. The results are great and I think we've set the stage for more participation next year.

I have some plans for a permanent page of some sort with all of the awards archived. I want this stuff organized so that we can always look back over the best stuff posted on PhotographyREVIEW.com. It would be a shame if it just lived in the forums and got buried and lost.

I think it has to do with how frequently you change your avatar as opposed to someone like me that's had the same old tired picture since the beginning of time. You keep us interested and guessing as to what you will have up next.

I'm the one responsible for the 'as a series' I imagine. The idea was that your avatar's are memorable because you update them and thus demonstrate they are not just an afterthought. Plus, many are topical (such as your current use of the 4/3 image).
