Considering where you live and the fact that you recently posted, I'd guess that it's something created by the floodwaters. It really looks a bit like the aftereffects of Mt. St. Helens, when all the trees were blown down in one direction ...

It does have to do with where I live, but not because of floods or volcanoes. Some of the guesses are getting closer...just not close enough yet. I'll check in again after work.
