When I first picked up a camera all I took shots of was nature and landscapes. I still love doing them, but im more selective now. I remember the first few years, I shot everything. Now when I go for a walk, I see alot, but it's like "have one of those", or "took something just like that before". Kinda sucks, but it also makes me look for different things.

Nice colors.

Do you treat this kind of thing the same as you would your portraits/wedding stuff? It has the same kind of Hodgy-feel, I was curious if you have a different technique for something like this.

Same technique. In fact, all photography should be treated the same. Exposure, COMPOSITION (I find is the most important) and subject.

All I did for this was burn down the outer edges, and this brings out my subject more (the insect)

I used a large aperature, so that the background would go completely out of focus.

The last thing I do is add a border and matte around my image (this in turn, finishes the image) as it just brings it one level up than just a straight image.

boy do I know what you mean!

but, nature imagery is for fun right? can you really walk past a photogenic sceen and not shoot it? It's digital after all :)

Yes I could. It would realllllllllllllllly have to jump out at me!

Fair enough :) But to me nature imagery is like images of ones children...... can you ever have enough???

But recently I will fill a 1G card and keep 5 frames.... delete the repetative crap that I enjoyed shooting ;)

boy ,if that rascal would of crawled his lil butt a lil bit higher on the flower,he would of been center stage,broadside,to see his lil wing colors.i like.
