Are we so busy taking pictures that we don't take photographs anymore?

Not too long ago, most people did not walk around with a camera on their person. To have one meant something worthwhile was expected to happen.

With our phones, now everyone has a capable phone with which to take high quality pictures and movies. I wonder if sites like this are experiencing a decline because people are happy with the pictures they take with their phones instead of carrying "cameras". I have to admit that there were times when a thought came to me like "I should get my camera, nah I have my phone..."

I wonder if camera sales of high end equipment have tapered off?

Any thoughts?
