A walkabout @ 10mm.
A walk about before Christmas dinner.Fantastic weather in the Bay Area. Happy Holidays to all.:D
Yeah!! I just by accident(really) figured out how to get exposure/metering correct with the Non-Nikkor lense. Sigma 10-20 lense. A~ priority mode. This is RAW. No adjustments.
Your thoughts ??

That's a sweet photo, Rick - great exposure and an excellent composition. There's some obvious vignetting in the corners. If you stop down a couple of stops you should be able to eliminate that.
Merry Christmas! I just came back from a nice ride and I will confirm that the weather is great. It's not supposed to be so good tomorrow, though. So I had to get in some pedaling before the trails all turn into mud bogs.

I agree with that assessment. I love the reflections of the building in th the artwork.
John, I didn't realize that stopping down would reduce the falloff toward the edges of a WA. Can you point me to an explanation of why that helps?

Fun lens, isn't it? Actually it looks a little darker than what you probably would have had on an auto mode, but that doesn't mean auto mode is correct (hardly, of course). I like it as is. Curious, what camera body are you using this lens with where you don't get metering?

Thanks Guys.!!
Hey John,Just got back from Hollister SVRA ~ Mud heaven :D
It will take me a week to wash the jeep
I'm using a Nikon D80. In auto mode this camera body underexposes when used with the Sigma 10-20. It's the infamous matrix metering. Maybe a firmware fix down the road ?? With a Nikkor lense the exposure is correct in auto mode. I like manual mode(s) for abstract work.
This was taken in manual ~A~ hand held with shutter delay.AF/AE lock, this is the result. I grabbed a bunch of pics.while I was here.Stay tuned.
Happy Holidays,
Rick
