    A Visit From The Birdman
Every August a migration of sorts takes place. Paul, AKA the bird man, travels from NJ to Florida. For the past couple of years he has stopped by to see Speed and the lovely Dawn. While it sounds easy, he's got to go through NC anyway, it is actually out of the way to come visit, but he does it anyway.

Here are a few shots of Paul with his lovely and longsuffering wife. ;-)

First couple of shots are of Paul in hog heaven. Walking through a muddy salt marsh chasing birds with a camera. And yes, that is a Nikon D200 he's shooting with!

Next shots are of them at Fort Macon. Sort of grab shots - since you're here, let me take your picture...

Did I mention we also went to the Aquarium? Watch out for those Tiger Sand Sharks!

Nice Speed you got Paul in his natural environment. Great to you Paul and your wife. she must be an angel to have stayed with you and I'm sure she must have wings or you wouldn't stayed with her. LOL Thanks for this glimpse of one PR's pioneers.

He loves it. He told me one day how he had been in a marsh, sitting in it, with the legs of his tripod shoved down into the mud. Too hard core for me!

Sort of. His first love is raptors, hawks, eagles, etc. But he did seem to enjoy himself. Michelle is a sweetie.

I'm not sure if he was happier about being in the mud or shooting with a Nikon again!

Married life added 15 pounds to me LOL!

Rob, though it adds 3 hours to my total trip, I would never pass up a chance to spend time with Dawn. ahh hummm ...YOU :)

Next year I will bring the 400 and 500 and we will go commando on those horses and birds together. I am supprised you didn't get me nearly knee deep in the marsh before I realised those wimpy nikons can't handle the abuse a canon can

I know the pleasure was all yours, but thanks for the awesome time

Stop it, you're embarrasing me - not!

And yes, Dawn is worth the trip!

Definitely bring the big lenses next time!
