Holly Crap! Where not to park your car!

We helped fish an empty car out of a pond, not a good parking place. It rolled out into the water from a driveway across the street. No one was hurt.

Guess they never heard of a parking brake, eh!
Probably end up in a used car lot for some unsuspecting soul.

That fourth shot, where only the antenna is sticking out of the water, cracks me up for some reason. I hope they had insurance.

This is the most shooting I have done in a while. I have had an artist block or something.

I was thinking about the commercials - water damage... no, new interior!

Won't that chain wrapped around the A-pillars scratch the paint?

If they need a spare parking break, let me know. I keep a couple in the back of my truck. A chunk of wood does wonders for keeping my truck in place! Some friends even made me a real fancy break a couple years ago. A piece of 2x4 with a rope nailed to it. That way I could release the brake without getting out of the truck.

Nice shots. Personally, if its cold enough for a dry suit, I'm staying dry and heading to Starbucks. I've definitely turned into a wimp keys diver.

Our divers weren't trained for dry suits.

Re: Holly Crap! Where not to park your car!

I had an old standard transmission F250 Supercab back in the day that had no parking brake. I lived in a town in the mountains that had steep hills. I had a parking brick that I used. Wood was used for heat back in those days

Tyson, great documentation. Just love the sequence. Any insight on what the owner did with the vehicle after it took the bath??

    Cheers,

Re: Holly Crap! Where not to park your car!

It would have really kicked butt if you'd have gotten shots of it going in the pond and then sinking! Try again... good practice for the divers too

I was taking a break at work when I was dispatching and went to a local gas station and was talking to two of our officers and one said "you may want to go get your truck from across the street" and I said "I'm parked right up here", then suddenly realized the headlights across the street were MINE! It rolled backwards across the 4 lane highway and didn't get hit! I left it running and put the parking brake on.... the brake was still on when I drove back across to the gas station, the brake cable snapped
