    Venus Transit Photo's - Volume 2
Here it is! The long awaited sequel! Hehehe. Hard waiting 24 hours, wasn't it? :-O

These are shots taken with my N80, Superia Xtra 400, and Celestron C-8.

The first one is the first shot I took through the Celestron as the sun broke through the fog.

I wasn't sure how well the clouds would show up on these. I like the way they did showed up. The first 42 images have clouds on them. The first 46 images showed the sun as an orange or yellow ball. From number 47 on, the sun is a plain white disk with a black dot on it. I actually have four or five more shots still in the camera. When I get those developed, I'll let you know if I got anything worth showing.

BTW, these were 768 pixels across at medium size. I cropped them horizontally, instead of reducing the size, to get below 640 pixels. I've cropped about a third of them so far (out of 66 photo's), and I've cloned some dust specks out of a few. Otherwise, these are as scanned.

Hope you enjoy them. Let me know what you think.

These are great! My favorite is the last one, with the soft orange color. I can't help thinking that Venus looks like a mole on the sun... :D

If you like these, wait till you see some of the others!

I also noticed that I did not clone out the dust on the first two shots. Ooops.

I wish I knew how! It would be most interesting to see the progression of Venus across the Sun's surface, and an mpg would be awesome to do that. But I wouldn't know what was required software wise, never mind actually putting it together. I'm lucky to get Photoshop Elements open and reduce an image's size. :-O

If anyone knows how to, then let me know.

Hmmm, yes. Seems I got ahead of myself. Telling everyone how I had cropped the images and removed the dust off of them, and then I look at my post, and I did not remove the dust off the first two! Geez.

I'll post more tomorrow. Don't want anyone to think I'm trying to monopolize the Viewfinder forum. While I find this incredibly fasinating, believe it or not, everyone else may not. I know, I know, that's a shocking thought, but to each his own. ;-)

I like the way you think!

Actually, my son makes airplane video's putting photo's together with music. I'll have to get him to build me a video. Now, where can I post that so everyone could see it?
