Vacation! WOO HOOOO
So we are planning on taking a week off while we can.

So far our plan is to spend a few days in Maryland, visiting some family, and then down to North Carolina for our usual 3 days in the hammock.

We usually drive, as that is our favorite part of the trip.

I can't take any vacations just now. Got too much work. But I know what I'm going to do in April. I'm going to take landscapes. In Brittany. Last week I picked up a demonstration Nikon 17-35 f2.8 for 970 Euros. Just bursting to use it.

But I can't right now. I have to go to Rome and spend weeks in the Sheraton migrating my clients systems with only my Stylus Epic and a horde of software engineers for company. Ummm. Hold on. Maybe that's not so bad after all.

Oh you poor thing. Forced to go to Rome.

I talked to a guy about 3 weeks ago that HAD to go to Cancun for work. He's telling me this while we are getting 12 inches of snow.

We are going to be in Asheville. Debating about driving down the coast when we leave Maryland, but not sure.

I've got a month to study up on my landscapes....

I've been to Rome three times in the last 2 months and all I've seen is the airport, taxi interiors, suburbs and meeting rooms. A day trip from Paris means getting up at 5am and getting home at 10pm. But it's still Italy. I just love it in the meetings when the Italians take a break out from English and start arguing in Italian.

At least tomorrow I get a couple of nights over there and a hire car so I can explore the area - preferably at night when the roads are clear.

Have fun on your holidays. Make the most of it and photograph everything.

    Hello Charles,

This is a major lense!!! I rent one last summer and I was amazed. The optical quality is stunning. Have a blast with this big boy toy!

    Hey Adina,

Have a good time! Personally, I shouldn't have any real vacation before next summer but I'll be in New York for easter (I might overuse/kill my camera that week end...)

Have a great time in NC. We have friends who own 55 acres and a bunch of rental cabins off the blue ridge over near Boone if you're looking for a place. You can reach them at www.fallcreekcabins.com. My son and I are taking two days of the presidents day weekend to spend a night in the keys and do some diving together. My wife and daughter are giving me the boys weekend as a birthday present since I hit 46 on Thursday.

Have a great trip and shoot lots of the little one.

    How sweet!

You've decided to deliver the tiara to me!

Lucky for you, I live minutes from I95 so it's really no trouble for you!

I'd be delighted to meet you and the fam for lunch on your way through if you're going through northern Virginia. I live off I66/495.

But really, mailing it would have been enough.

    Let me know!

Sounds great, Asheville is beautiful. Just about on the way is Townsend TN (on the border) which is also very photogenic area. Went to a Trout farm for dinner there once - placed our order and while watching out the window a minute later, we saw a cook walk out the back door with a net. Guess you had to be there...;)

Great areas for those landscapes you'll be shooting :). Enjoy the trip!
