Adina you have a very good eye for children. Those pictures are great. I love the drying the shirt and raincoat photos!

    Thanks.

The drying shirt is my favorite I think from the whole trip. I have some others of the two of them trying to dry, but this one really caught me. What's funny is that at one point I could see the water pouring in the sleeve of her raincoat, and out the bottom.

As far as the lens, it was the 50mm. Which was a bit limiting during vacation, but as we were loading up the car, I had my whole backpack, and my hubby was like, "there is no way we are taking all that, it's going to be way too heavy...blah blah blah". So I took just the 20d and the 50mm, and one cf card.

I told myself before we left that I wasn't going to take too many photos, and the ones I did get weren't going to be anything spectacular. I was going to go and have a good time, and take some pics to share with our family. Which is why we only really have photos from the musuem. It's divided up into areas, and we'd move to one, they'd play, I'd have a chance to take a few, and we'd move on. We spent about 20 min in each area, so there was enough time. And the girls are old enough now that they will scope this stuff out on their own, and don't really need help. We watch them, obviously, but really, we are just sitting and waiting for them to be done.

Next time though, we are picking up a p&s for vacation :)

    Thanks

Out of so many good shots, how many do you get that don't turn out? I've always admired you kid photos. Every once in a while my wife or myself will get a good one worth printing but you seem to have a real knack for it, or your kids are exceptionally photogenic, maybe a little of both....

I had a realization a while back that the people who will really have an apreciations for all these photos of our kids will be their grandchildren, and their great grandchildren. There are so few pictures of my parents when they were young, and none of my grandparents that I've seen. I wish there were more.

    Great shots Adina.

I really like the first one, and the one of the girl drying her shirt is my second favorite.

Hope you had a great vacation.

    thanks all.

As far a shots vs. keepers....well, some days are better than others. Usually, when I photograph children, I average about 100 shots. I narrow that down to 20. The other 80 aren't necessarily bad, but I've found that children's expressions and moods shift so fast, that I take 3 or 4 quickly, and then choose the one with the best expression. Here's something recent...

    Thanks
