heh, I *knew* it was a 50, it just looks oddly large or tall in that picture, and I can't wrap my little brain around why. =]

Hey, Loupey. I see you have an Aussie like mine.
Does she sit patiently in a car like that Golden does in the first shot?
    Mine doesn't!
    Good series with the dogs.

Thank you, Frog. No Rocket doesn't sit still for long. But then again, I've never met an Aussie that could for very long! So smart and dedicated that breed is. I have two.

    Re: Transportation Thread

Several NW native nations do an annual canoe journey. From as far away as Oregon, Vancouver Island and British Columbia.
I was expecting 25 to 30 canoes. Turned out to be 98. Took an hour and a half for them to all arrive and then an hour plus to come to shore in groups according to nation and ask permission of the Squaxon nation to come ashore. Each was welcomed individually.
Lots of drumming and singing. I got there lateer than I wanted and could not fine a good photo vantage point but shot what I could,
    1. One of the larger, fancier canoes
    2. A smaller one
    3. Large group arriving
    4 Shot for the contrast
    5. They paddled to this location and lined up by tribe.

Then each nation came to in front of the Squaxin elders and in prayerful manners, asked permission to come ashore. It was granted, of course, and then they moved to the marina to load the canoes on trailers. There is a big potlatch on the Squaxins land all week. Wish I could go but doesn't look likely.

    Re: Transportation Thread

First shots with my new(ish) 28-135 IS USM. Not quite the Earth-shattering results I was hoping (but not expecting) changing from the 18-55 kit, but the focus feels like there should be recoil from it.

The colors don't stand out because this car basically doesn't have any, especially not when it's indoors next to the windows. Several shots had the road cars in the background and they looked good, but I didn't shoot any of those specifically. (Seems silly now.) I guess the road car just looks a bit dull to me, no matter how fancy fast it is.

Starrider, is that guy trying to push the Ducati onto its side or what?

    ^That looks vaguely familiar.

The Constitution is pretty neat. It's almost exactly like a Carnival cruise ship inside. Minus a couple of the more luxurious features.

I took the square root of some negatives and all my pictures came out in the wrong focal plane.

    I can name the V-8!!!!

    I'll call it "George."

Actually, I'm disqualified because I've been with you to view it. Several times. Pretty morbid thought, that, all that time spent with you, wandering around. And I wish that place had better food than the expensive deli they have in there....

I believe that would be a Morbidelli V8. I am guessing that is the 1994 at Barber Museum. As that is a rare breed to come by.

Erm, or you would have, except then you said nice things to my brother, which disqualifies you.

Transportation is a pretty tough undertaking especially when it comes to transporting cars. I had an experience with it and it was difficult and expensive.

What a nice thread, so many useful details and recommendations. Guys, as you are into it, please help me. I have a transportation business and right now I'm in search of a new hauler. I found vehicle carriers for sale and they seem to be awesome. What do you think of them?
