Total Eclipse Of The Moon...
On March 3rd.
Less than three weeks away. Start planning now - pick out your site, your lens, your film (that's Velvia for you Rick), and read up on shooting the moon.
Here's the article about the eclipse:

And here's some advice for those new to astrophotography:

I only got to see and photograph part of the last eclipse, so I'm looking forward to this one.

BTW, it doesn't take expensive gear to shoot an eclipse. The photo's in the above post were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 5700.
Re: Total Eclipse Of The Moon...
I have now read 2 different dates for this event on 4 different sites. You have it as the 2nd where others have it as the 3rd. Where can I find clarification on this date for my area / portion of the hemisphere?

My bad! I hit the "2" instead of the "3" key. Sorry.
It is March 3rd.
The first link has the details, and you can look at the map, find your location, and figure out how far along the eclipse will be when it comes into view. I live on the east coast, and the eclipse will already be underway when the moon rises at 5:44 pm. I'll most likely go to the beach to catch it as it rises.
