    Tomorrow! The Winter 24 Hours!

OK, I'm making the executive decision to plunk the next 24 Hours down on next Wednesday, January 24th, since there was a large interest in having it soon. Sorry Megan! I'll post reminders all along, but mark your calendars! Don't miss it! This is only one week away!!

The 24 Hours Projects are optional photography assignments in which the whole board goes out and shoots on the same day. The resulting collection of photography from around the world makes up the "24 Hours of PhotographyREVIEW" project. There will be a new thread started Tuesday night so that people can begin posting as they're shooting starting at midnight, local time. That means that any shot you take starting 12:00am YOUR time fits in the project! Everyone has done a good job of tempering their amount of posts, but just a reminder that more is less. Due to the high amount of pictures posted in these projects, please be considerate with the number of photos you post. Less can be more!

To view another discussion of the 24 Hours project, and to view our past projects, click here.

Get those cameras warmed up! The next 24 Hours is only a week away! Please feel free to post questions, comments, or excitement here. I don't want to hear anything about anyone not having heard about this one in time!

Re: Only 3 days away! January 24th the Winter 24 Hours of PhotographyREVIEW!

Bump again! Don't forget! This Wednesday!

I know some people in the past have done special trips for the 24 Hours thing. Anyone planning one this time?

I also wanted to point everyone toward the original book series that inspired this project: America 24/7

The original projects had more of a journalistic feel to them, where ours have more of a "day in the life of" feel. I wonder if in a future project we could push towards the jounralistic end. That might be fun

Anyway, enjoy! The 24 Hours are a few short days away!

Well I just made an appointment for that day, so at least I'll be leaving my house.

Otherwise it would be photos of me standing outside with the dog, photos of me feeding the dog. Photos of the dog trying to eat my leg...the list goes on and on.
    I sleep, but I don't rest.

Glad to see this thread getting some attention Smart Wombat, is there any way you can shoot at work? Taking your camera with you to work is half the fun!

Re: Only 3 days away! January 24th the Winter 24 Hours of PhotographyREVIEW!

Hey Marc thanks for asking. I'm sure other people wondered the same thing.

The answer is yes, 24 Hours where YOU live. That means you can start shooting at midnight Tuesday night and go until Wednesday at midnight. Because I am in the Rocky Mountain time zone, I will create a new thread for the project this evening so that people in later time zones can start posting at midnight (their time) if they want!

Any theme is okay. Most people have done a "day in the life of" theme where they carry their camera to work with them and shoot whatever happens that day. Others have taken the day to travel and put really beautiful scenics in the project. Others work at home and take pictures of the kids, cats, birds, etc. And still others do photography as their job so they post some of their work from that day in the project. So bottom line is, everything counts! It just has to be shot in that 24 Hour period. I also ask that everyone be selective in the amount of pictures they post so that we don't bog the thread down too badly. That's it!

And yes, the project is open to EVERYONE.

Thanks again. Just a few more hours to go!

Remember that the monthly project is COLOR while you are out taking the 24 hour pics.

You can post them when ever you want. People will begin posting right away tomorrow morning, and all throughout the day. Others will wait a day or two depending on when they have time to go through them, or get their film developed. Whatever works best for you.

I had a colors shot all picked out for the drive to work tomorrow Chunk. There was a bunch of iceicles hanging in front of a neon sign. I looked on my way home from work, and someone broke all of the iceicles off.

Ditto that. Post whenever you want. Film users (like me, sometimes) can take a week or 2 get their images up and posted.

Post when you want, but if you start posting before midnight your time, we'll all be a little suspicious
