    Thunder
For those that may recall, the lovely wife had a dog named Patches that loved her like nothing else in this world. Patches passed away on July 2nd, and Dawn was heartbroken. She also said she did not want another dog, unless she knew it would love her like Patches did. While I couldn't guarentee that, I did find a very loving dog (he was a pound puppy) that thinks the world of her. She named him Thunder.

Cute pooch there... Lab and what mix? My dog is part Lab and part Rotwieler, so when he's bad he is a Rotten Lab :)
I almost lost him in August to heartworm but after $600 and 5 trips to the vet he has pulled through, in fact, as of Tuesday he was off all restrictions and can do what he wants now... ie: chase the cat around the house :D

The concensus is that he's a German Sherpard mix. We just can't figure out what he's mixed with. Lab, Rottie, whatever? He's got a shorter, more rounded snout than a shepard, so Rottie is a definite possibility.

He loves playing with the cat...but the cat doesn't share his enthusiam!

post a pic in 3 months and I will tell you the breeds pretty acurately!

Pound dogs ROCK dude! I have had plenty of them! I am actually thinking of getting another soon, but Michelle wants me to get a mastiff type puppy......not a 160LB plus dog that will see her brother is afraid and try to kill him.... they usually do too ;)

Awwww . . what a cute little guy!

Good for you for rescuing a pound pup. I also will enjoy watching him grow. Based on my dogs over the years this one surely has some Rott in him, notice the Bow Tie already! Could even have some Doberman Pinscher, particularly with the amount of Red he's already showing.

    Have fun!

    Thanks for the encouraging words!

He's been a real joy, and we're already talking about taking him to obedience classes.

We had a Rottie for a while, but when we built our new house, the insurance man said we had to get rid of him. We gave him to a family in our church, but we've wanted to get another one ever since. Thunder may or may not have Rottie in him, but we think he's going to be a decent sized dog.
