    Blood Moon

So called " Blood Moon " from tonights lunar eclipse, like the way the stars are still visible around the full moon.

Nice capture Pete. The clouds rolled in just as the eclipse was near completion, so I bagged the whole idea around 2:30 am.

Stunning Image! I clicked to see the larger image and am amazed at the Stars surrounding the Moon. You did a fantastic job with this shot.

I'm sorry I missed seeing it in person.

    Re: Blood Moon

Thanks Ken and Liz, the clouds rolled in here too just after this was taken so I guess I was a bit fortunate in getting this. The advantage of shooting in camera raw is that I was able to use all the detail in the image to show a lot of what was there with a little photo shop magic. This is the actual image and not a composite, I had to back off the detail a bit because there were so many stars they looked like noise.
