The suspense of UPS package tracking
There are few things as suspenseful as sitting at work watching your package make its way across southern new england to your doorstep. Especially when the package contains your new 70-200 2.8 IS lens!!! Delivered at 2:46 and I can't leave work until 5.
I am sure we have all experienced this feeling but right now i wish i could rip open the box and have a look! I finally decided to quit saying "wish i had some fast glass" and bought the lens. I'll probably be posting photos from it soon :-)

Re: The suspense of UPS package tracking
I know the feeling well, except I can open the packages in the privacy of my office. I still have to wait to leave to start fondling the precious purchase.
We can ALL relate to that one!
Congratulations! You picked a great lens.....and will love it. I'm looking forward to seeing some images......soon.
BTW - I agree, there is nothing like that wonderful feeling you get when you're tracking UPS (especially from B&H for me personally). It's almost tempting to buy something just for that rush! ;)
Enjoy!

Thanks for supporting my lens choice....it really is a stretch for me but I realized I have been progressing at a steady rate and am often pushing the limits of what I have. So it made sense to bite the bullet, especailly after using a borrowed 70-200 2.8.
I have of course taken about 100 shots on the lens so far, and its very nice. The IS is significantly improved from my 28-135 and makes me wonder if the IS on that ever really did work right. It does feel like if I am not careful, I will rip my 10D apart with the weight off the new lens, so i will just have to be very careful! First thing i did out of the box was put on a new HMC uv filter to hopefully protect it for a while. I am obviosuly very excited about my new purchase.
Getting stuff from b&h definetly ranks up there in excitement and suspense value. I haven't been this excited to see a box since i bought my last bike. Alright back to the lens, must play.
Thanks for sharing in my excitement

Boy do I love that feeling. I picked up my D70 last week and am now waiting for a pair of alien Bees to set themselves down on my doorstep.

Know the feeling well... Enjoy the new lens.
Re: The suspense of UPS package tracking
I know the feeling. The adrenaline rush all day as I track UPS online every 30min, the instant heart attack the second I hear the UPS guy's voice in the background asking for a signature, then the awful anticipation of trying to find 30 seconds between patients to rip open the box and gaze at the new toy.
Congratulations on your choice of lens. I had the original (which got stolen  ) and I replaced it eventually with this lens. Same incredible optics and speed. You will not be disappointed, believe me, and I'll be surprised if this lens isn't attached to your camera at least 70% of the time. The only caveat is the darn AF and IS switches are easy to flick without notice in handling, otherwise, aaaawwwwweeesommmme lens
