Summer Gatherings?

Hello everyone. I had posted this in the "community forum" but was informed that it might get alot more attenion here in this forum. I am just curious as to who out there has actually met people from this site and got together for a photo gathering? I am in Kitchener, Ontario which is about an hour from Toronto. I am interested in getting together with some folks for a photo gathering at some point over the summer. I think it would be lots of fun and a great learning experience for someone like myself. I'm a total newbie into photography. I own a D70, and that's about it right now,lol. Very expensive hobby I'm beginning to realise,lol. I just want to learn as much as I can with like minded folks. Is there anyone out there in Ontario that would be interested?

Gatherings are becoming more and more common and a great way to shoot some wonderful shots with some wonderful people. Though I haven't seen a Canadian one in a while, I know there's a few eastren Canadians on the forums. I'm from BC, so I wouldn't be able to, but just wait and see who responds!

Hello Jules,

I am from Montreal but I would be interested in a Toronto gathering for instance. There are good shooting locations there. Let's just hope that some fellow members from the eastern US would be interested as well.

I would suggest considering a "gathering" even if just two/three/four people want to get together. It's always fun to go out with someone from here - it's not necessary to have big numbers. :D

Thanks for the welcome Liz. I totally agree with you when you say it doesn't have to be big numbers. It doesn't matter to me either way. I just know for myself being out with other like minded folks would be a great learning experience, and alot of fun. I don't know about the rest of you but my "other half" is not really interested in photography so to go out with him is a quick trip,lol. Anyway glad to hear that your interested Seb. I think Toronto would be the best meeting place. It's a big city with alot of photo ops there. I guess we'll just see who else responds, and where it goes from here. Thanks,
