    Sound Of Music Honeymoon Update
Yesterday, Mrs. Shafer and I drove from Garda into the Dolomites near Austria. It was an interesting drive. The road at Passo Gardena isn't wide enough for a car and a tour bus, but that doesn't stop the busses. Good thing I brought extra diapers...

This photo is just pure alpen-porn. Actually, it's the Dolomite mountains, which I think are a part of the Alps. Regardless, I think you'll agree it's totally alive with the sound of music.

    Passo Gardena
Here are a couple of photos taken at the pass. The Dolomites are ridiculous. I think we were at about 2000 meters / 6000 feet here.

    Badia
We are staying in Val Badia in the town of Badia. This is looking across the valley at the little village of San Linert. Perfection, no?

    One From Today's Hike
Here's one photo to represent today's hike above La Villa. We took the lift up and hiked down. That's Mrs. Shafer, my Heidi :)

Tomorrow we mountain bike. Or attempt to...

Now I have the urge to watch Sound of Music.

Loving the shots and certainly selling me on the E-P3...one may be in my future to replace my rather beat up E-P1.

    I wouldn't go that far :)

The E-P3 has really impressed me. I've used the Pen cameras a lot and I've always thought they were a great compromise when I wanted to go small and light without sacrificing much in the way of image quality. With the E-P3, I don't feel I'm sacrificing image quality anymore - not compared to my EOS 7D, anyway. The images from the E-P3 are beautiful - and I've only shot JPEGs so far, too. I did give up continuous auto focus performance but I can live without that for this kind of trip.
