I cannot stand these things, don't even like to look at them. But my oldest thinks they are facinating. We were at the zoo during feeding time yesterday, and even the dead mice in the tanks didn't gross her out.

cool.... your green tree boa is from the amazon river basin... hence the yellow hatches on the dorsal area ;) the other sub species have white in place of the yellow..... if i'm right

I think i am wrong. this now looks like a green tree PYTHON . amazon river basin tree boas have white dorsal striping., while a few "emerald" tree boa subspecies can have yellow. i gave up on keeping up with boids 8 years ago.... and the info is starting to break through the fog in my head called 3RD shift insomnia .

either way.... cool shot and it's not a SoBe locality subspecies!

the miami area ones are a wee light in the loafers last i checked, but i do recall hearing that a sure ID point was orange lips with neon glitter

If I remember correctly (which I very well may not). Not only did we have to look at them all, but we had to read all the information, and see if we could see any mouse lumps on their bodies.
