Some Recent Shots Of My Favorite Subject
Last weekend I took the lovely wife out of town for a coule of days for her birthday. We went shopping in Greenville, then went to New Bern, where we checked into the Harvey Mansion Bed and Breakfast. They also have a fine dining restaurant there, so we had dinner there as well. We spent our time being lazy, walking the downtown area, we took a carriage ride through town, and she posed for some photo's - some of which I can post here.

    :-O

The first shot is the lovely wife laying in the king size bed, (which was VERY comfortable).

The second shot was taken with the SB-800 off camera, set up in wireless mode. This was the first time I've done this, and the creative possibilities have really whet my appetite to do more of this type of photography.

I'd be inspired too if I was you--- if I started out with a shirt on and ended up with messed up hair and no shirt
...hope you bought her a real present!:D :p :skep:

    Hehehe. Guilty as charged!

"I'd be inspired too if I was you--- if I started out with a shirt on and ended up with messed up hair and no shirt"

You don't know the half of it! The lingerie shots followed this, and the REAL glamour shots came after that.

    ;-)

"...hope you bought her a real present!"

I did. And I mean besides me!

I emailed her these shots, and this was her reply: "WOW! You made me look GOOOOD!!!!" I was VERY pleased with most of the shots I got. She is such a beautiful woman, and I love it when I can do her justice with my photo's. Here is her favorite shot of the three I emailed her...

    Where's the warning?
Can you post that 2nd shot without some sort of warning? Judging by her look, I'm suprised you had photography on your mind!! Did the lens/camera melt or suffer any heat damage? Ha!

That third shot is gorgeous. The bare shoulder hinting at the lack of clothes. The pose, the look, the hair, the lighting all work together. This is a great shot my friend. It doesn't have the passion in the eyes like the second shot but it's still a great shot. My only nitpick would be the item in the background but it's blurry enough to not be too distracting. What lense did you use?

The wireless flash setup Nikon has sounds like something Canon should have. :)

It's been a while since I've posted, been lurking occasionally, but had to comment on these! The lovely Dawn always seems to draw lots of comments and I had to throw mine in also. Tell her I said "hello".

I suppose I should have put up an "Implied Nudity" warning. But I can assure you, there was nothing "implied" about this shot! She was nude, though tastefully covered.

"Judging by her look, I'm suprised you had photography on your mind!! Did the lens/camera melt or suffer any heat damage? Ha!"

I definitely had photography on my mind (had to get out the D200 and SB-800 instruction books to make it work), but she was VERY distracting. ;-) I'm happy to report neither the camera nor the lens show any signs of heat damage or structural damage. Apparently Nikons are made of tough stuff!

"That third shot is gorgeous. The bare shoulder hinting at the lack of clothes. The pose, the look, the hair, the lighting all work together. This is a great shot my friend."

Thank you my friend. Dawn loves this shot (as do I). Again, the bare shoulder implies nudity (and she was), but I like this as a teaser shot. I think this shot has more of a suductive feel to it than the second one. The background items were the fireplace tools, and they are a distraction. However, given the subject, I think they are a minor distraction. I used my Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 for this shot. Exif data says it was shot at 52mm, 1/60th second at f4 with +.7 EV, ISO 100.

The wireless capability of the SB-800 is phenominal, and this was the first time that I've used it. I'm looking forward to working with it more. I forsee this option becoming an option on other camera systems in the near future.

I'm glad to see you on the boards again. Toot had been trying to get up with you. Did you get in touch with her? Also, has your email changed? We've been getting our emails returned. If you have a new email, how about emailing it to me ot PM it to me?

    Take care buddy!

Ha, I had no doubt about the state of her (un)dress. I wasn't talking about an "implied nudity" warning either. You need to warn poor innocent bystanders about those eyes in the second shot. I don't know what you did to her, or promised to do but those eyes and that look are dangerously HOT. I can just imagine you fumbling through the instruction manuals trying to find what you're looking for while she's sitting there looking at you like that. Sheesh. :)

Tell me more about that lens, or have you already posted some info about it? Do I need to do a search through your posts?

As for the wireless capability of your flash system, I guess even Nikon can get lucky once in a while. Too bad the rest of the equipment isn't as good as Canon! (I'm being facetious for all of you who don't know me, please don't crucify me for smart-alek comments!!) That being said, I do wish Canon had the same. From what I've read it whoops up on Canon ST-E2 setup.

Hopefully I'll be able to post more now that we've moved and gotten sort of settled into our new place.

Burned onto a CD, to be viewed only by the wife and myself. Sorry, but we're both professionals, and posting those could cost us our jobs. But believe me, they were tasteful and sexy.

I hadn't done anything to her (yet). And I hadn't promised her anything. That look was anticipation of what was to come after the photography ended. She has this "effect" on me, and, well, use your imagination...

"Tell me more about that lens, or have you already posted some info about it? Do I need to do a search through your posts?"

The Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 is my wide angle lens. It became something of a necessity for shooting weddings. My 50mm f1.4 had me climbing over pews to get everyone into the shot. I knew I wanted (needed) a fast lens, and ASAP Photo had this one used. Dawn bought it for me for Christmas three years ago. It also has been very nice for landscapes, birthday parties, school plays, etc.

Now that I'm shooting digital (who thought THAT day would ever come?) I'm finding that the 42-105mm range (35mm equivalent) is a bit limiting. Maybe if I can get enough paying gigs, I can get the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 or the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8. Either one would be sweet, and would bring me back to 28mm coverage, with my D200 that is.

"Hopefully I'll be able to post more now that we've moved and gotten sort of settled into our new place."

I certainly hope so! I'll be looking forward to seeing some shots from your new stomping grounds.
