Some more scans
Been going through a bunch of old 35mm slides this week and scanning in a bunch that I never took the time to have printed. This Epson 4990 makes it so easy to scan slides :)
Anyway, here's a smattering of everything. The 4 in this thread were taken in Oakland, California if you can imagine that. Not the kind of scenes people imagine when they think of Oakland typically.

Re: Some more scans
Gorgeous color in all of these photos, Rick. I especially like the duckling and the aurora in Virginia. Didn't know they got them there (the aurora that is, hehe).

Re: Some more scans
Good stuff Rick! Love the richness of your colors, that 4990 sure does a great job.

Re: Some more scans
Great shots Rick! I really like the tonal range of the first one.
LOVE the colors and details slides give you.
Which is why I have 10 rolls of Sensia 100 waiting to be used!

Re: Some more scans
Nice work, Rick. It's always fun to go through and rescan older work. Good quality, shows that film ain't dead yet!

Re: Some more scans
I didn't know Virginia was blessed with Aurora either.. My personal fav is the flops in the sand.
What else have you got?

Re: Some more scans
Thanks guys
Yeah, the 4990 is GREAT. I have saved so much already not having to get slides printed in order to scan them. The quality of the scans is excellent too (don't let my poor PS skills fool you! ;)) I scanned a 35mm slide on full resolution the other day and it gave me an image something like 220 inches by 150?! Whew!
Until that night I didn't know the aurora went that far south either. I assumed the colors were from some city lights or something until I read later the aurora had dipped unusually far south that same night. Then someone saw that picture and confirmed :)
LONG LIVE FILM! I plan to use it for as long as I can still buy it. I just can't see the point of going DSLR yet. Not with my 645 sitting on the desk next to me with loaded with Velvia, staring up at me saying "let's go play!" ;)
Thanks fellas
