So you want to be a National Geographic Photographer???
I've been watching a few more photography oriented movies/documentaries on Netflix and stumbled across this gem. It's a behind the scenes look with National Geographic Photographer Joel Sartore. Here's a link to the video on Amazon. I highly recommend checking out this video. It showed a lot of the trials he faces from weird diseases in foreign countries to dealing with having a wife and kids. As an interesting side note, when this was shot in 2006, Joel was the only remaining NG photographer still shooting film. He shot 600 - 800 rolls of per assignment. I don't even want to think what that part of his budget totaled

It's all fun and games until you have to have a heavy metal drip going directly into your heart for an hour or so everyday for a month or when you have to spend days laying in your own urine...LOL

ROTFL... nope, just speaking of the experience Joel mentions. The day I'm good enough to get a shot in NG, you better prepare for the end because hell has just frozen over...LOL

I have added this to my queue. :)

Another great place to find photography documentaries is Youtube. Here's one that shows Annie Leibovitz photographing the queen of England, one showing how Gregory Grewdson created one of his images.

Yeah, he got some weird disease in Bolivia and they were saying the only cure was a heavy metal drip, that amounted to essentially chemo. But the stuff was so toxic to your veins that they had to feed a tube to deliver it into the heart so that it would be quickly dispersed and diluted.

    Great links Mike, thanks!
