Re: So what did YOU get for x-mas (photography related)?

My honey got me Lightroom 2 for Christmas. I am amazed by the power of this program. Luckily, I also received Scott Kelby's Lightroom 2 book to help me try use it more effectively. I love Kelby's books, had his one for Elements 2 and it really helped out a lot....

My brother in law got me The Portfolios of Ansel Adams for a little photographic inspiration. I'll be ordering myself a D3 and 24-70 f2.8 in the next couple of weeks though. ;)

I'm getting a Sigma 10-20mm! I'm stoked, can't wait for it to arrive!

I got a replacement lens hood to replace the one I destroyed in a slip on ice with my 70-200, the Sigma 30mm 1.4 (which is getting replaced due to backfocus) and some cash which is actually going to bike parts.

I added one more photo gift today. My wife and I went shopping and she bought me the book National Geographic: The Photographs. It's the book she thought she got the first time.

    Mike,
I liked that photo too. Also one that really struck me was the one of the young boy in orange holding the parasol near the front of the book. The other photo you are speaking of was taken a few years after the publication date of the book I believe, otherwise it probably would have been included. I've already looked through the pages several times already. The other book you are speaking of is also on my list of ones to own.
