    Sigma OS stabilization works well

I took both pictures inside the Atlanta Aquarium. It was handheld without any bracing of any kind at the settings below, Jeff

Remember these were also cut way down in size so that I could post them.

    1st picture
    Nikon D7000
Sigma 17-50 F2.8 EX DC OS HSM lens
    1/5 sec
    Taken at F2.8
    at 17mm
    ISO 200

2nd picture with the yellow sea horses in it and all the color under water
    Nikon D700
Sigma 17-50 F2.8 EX DC OS HSM lens
    1/13 sec
    Taken at F 2.8
    17mm
    ISO 640

I guess nobody else was as impressed with this lens's stabilization as I was, Jeff

It is hard to compare the two because the Sigma is a 17-50mm F2.8 and the lenses I have that have VR are all either longer lenses or slower ones. I also have fairly steady hands. I had no idea that I was even shooting this slow until I got home and was looking at the pictures and noticed the settings. I think I could shoot even slower if I was aware of the need to be shooting at slower shutter speeds and concentrating on what I was doing, Jeff

    Lenses I have with VR
Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VR is fast but longer
    Nikon 70-300 VR is longer
Nikon 18-200 VR can be shot in the same range but is slower
