    Sigma 18-50mm DC 1:3.5-5.6

I got this today in the mail. It is the last of my new toys. It would have been nice if I could have affored its more expencive brother, but with school and being out of work I only had a small amount to work with. That's ok though becuase after I graduate things will be different!

I am actually quite surprised by this lens. It is quite sharp, and the colors really pop. I would say that it edges out the EF 28-80 that I was using before. I defintely appreciate the wide 18mm angle that I was missing with the 28-80. 18mm + 1.6x tele factor = aprox 28mm in 35mm terms, so it will foot the bill for my wide angle needs nicely.

Here are a few pics. the fist is the lens, and the next 2 are some of the test shots I took just after getting the lens.

The following 2 images have only been resized and brightened up just a tad.

There is a slight vignetting at the edges due to the UV filter, and the white spot in the center is the moon

Congratulations on the new lens. Good move. The test shots look good and the zoom range is much better than 28-80mm, for your D60. As for the 28-80mm lens - almost anything is better than thing. I didn't realize how crappy it was until I replaced mine with the 28-135 IS.
