    Sigma 17-50 F2.8 handheld 1/3 sec

I was setting at my computer and turned around and my grandson was on a mattress so I took a snapshot. It was very difficult to catch him in between moving around. Settings below. This was taken handheld without any support of any kind. This lens is the the version with the stabilization in it, Jeff

NOTE...... This is a snapshot and not a great photograph. The reason I posted it was to show the ability of the lens to shoot at slow shutter speeds.

    Nikon D700
Sigma 17-17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM
    Taken at F2.8
    Shutter speed 1/3 second
    ISO 200
    at 50mm

    Jeff,
What a good-looking grandson you have there! This is a nice shot, too. Wow! the shutter was only 1/3? That is cool. I would never be successful trying something with a shutter that slow! But, then I have a slight camera shake problem so have to make sure I stick with the higher speeds which is sometimes a challenge.

Looks like you are enjoying that nice lens.

I took this one at 1/2 sec and the only thing I did to it was re-size and post it. Again this was hand held without any support using the Sigma 17-17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM lens, Jeff

I'll say that is really really good, and that you also have very steady hands

Should very useful in interiors, where flash is not allowed, or you just don't want to use it

If I had the D7000 I'll be using it to get as many shots in ISO 100 as possible, the dynamic range of the sensor at ISO 100 is supposed to be at the highest range of the currently availble DSLRs

I am very happy with the D7000 and this lens. I started with the Nikon D80 then stepped up to the Nikon D90 and that was a nice improvement but I must say that going from the D90 to the D7000 was a MUCH BIGGER improvement. The D7000 is a really great camera. I have recently added the Nikon 70-200VR F 2.8 and the Sigma 17-50 F 2.8 to my lens collection and both of these lenses are very good and a lot of fun to shoot with when I get the opportunity, Jeff
