    " Shutter Problem "
    The understatement of the month.

A friend appeared with a camera this week and wanted to know what wasn't working properly . . . could I maybe see what's wrong or fix it?

Then he dumped this out of the bottom of the bag and said "Where's the rest of the film?" I gently broke it to him that the camera was a goner, this wasn't film, it was his shutter.

I'm not really sure how this occured, the story is vague, but he is all fixed now with a newer camera.

From a Canon T50 (FD mount).

Well there was a party, teenagers, cameras being passed around etc.

Then, the now defunct camera had film stuck in the shutter supposedly once before and a repair shop had fixed that. That and an old roll of film that had disintigrated once before gave someone the idea that as long as you pulled all the pieces out, it would work . . .

I've demonstrated how to load the camera, use it, and unload it (manual rewind that if the release isn't held will shred the film).

Whatever really happened, it was over in a snap. :D
