Okay I deleted your second photo. And thanks for posting a self portrait to keep the thread on topic. You're welcome to post nude shots on these forums, but please take a moment to provide a warning - maybe BIG BLOCK LETTERS and then requiring some scrolling or alternatively providing a link to your work rather than the in-line photo, especially when it's off topic in a thread like this. Thanks!

Very good advice. I just about made a mess in my pants when scrolling through the thread and those images popped up. I work at a university and am the only guy in my area. I often show some of my female co-workers the images I'm looking at when browsing PR. This time I was fortunate enough that no one was looking at the photos with me. A warning would have stopped me from scrolling until the photos displayed.

Not counting the scare, I enjoyed the images.

That's quite a handful Amber. Still, a very nice self portrait!

It's funny, I enjoy my son immensely now that he's old enough to have a conversation with and play with but I really miss the times he used to sleep in my arms.

Nicely done Speed. I really like the lighting of the first one! It's very dramatic!! Not saying the second one isn't good but the first one's great.

No, I don't play hockey, and no, I don't sing, dance and act.

But I did take some photos that meet the criteria for three different threads.

    These are self portraits.

    These are window light portraits.

And, these were taken with my 50mm.

D300, 50mm f1.4, ISO 200, f 5.6. Taken in my office, by a east facing window in the afternoon, handheld at arms length.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to post this in other threads. ;-)

She gave me the hat, I had been looking for one like that for a while...

People give me looks of jealousy everywhere I go.

Very nice! What kind of post-processing did you do? I like it, just trying to figure out what, if anything you did.

I tonemapped the RAW file using photomatix a bit, sharpened, slight crop, and desaturated

OK I see what you mean. Even the second post is inappropriate.

Second request to the moderator: could you remove the second (corrected) image I posted yesterday? If people want to see it then it's in my personal gallery on this site. I can't do it myself. 24 hours has gone by already.

    Thanks

    Charles,

A warning in the subject line would have kept me from the surprise! Especially on your second post when you had your portrait between the subject and the photo. I'll have to go check your site out, they were good photos, just unexpected! :)

I was out shooting some of the effects of the snow and ice storm that hit Kentucky this week and ended up turning the camera on my self.

Technically it's a portrait of me.... but since I was the only one who brought a camera and it was taken on my camera.. ... and since it is the only shot I have of me from within the last 2 years... here I am.

Not exactly flattering I realise, but a self portrait none-the-less.

So I guess the good thing about taking self portraits is I realized I really need a hair cut :D

    First a silly one.

And then 2 more silly ones.

(hard to focus on the eyes in a self portrait! :p)

Nice set of pics Walter. I think Adina is just rolling over on us and conceding. That new studio must really have her tied up.

Thank you my friend! Kind words indeed.

So the first one is dramatic? Hmmmm. I thought it had a serious look to it, but dramatic. Better watch it, my ego might think this is a good thing. ;-)

    Have a good one buddy!

Nice job Dana! Now that wasn't nearly as hard as you thought it was going to be was it. Great to see you, you did a super job.

Well, I want to say I like the third one but there's the subject of nudity! You and Speed, two of a kind! LOL I love the framing of your eyes, so how did you get the focus right? Measure and focus to the distance? Or some other trick up your sleeve (if you had a sleeve)?

I like the lighting in the second one also.
