    SD/SDHC CF Card Adapter

Since the new cameras are going to SD cards, I decided that I would try an adapter to CF.

I ordered an adapter from EBAY, approx $20. I used a PNY Optima 16GB HD card that I bought for my wife's new Canon. I also tried a Micro SD, with adapter in the CF adapter.

    1. The Micro SD does not work in my Sony A700. Probably too many steps.

    2. The SD card does work, but I cannot format it in the camera. It does record the photos, and I can transfer them to the computer.

    3. The CF adapter / SD card is very slow, though the card alone is very fast, again, some kind of conversion, I guess

    4. The CF adapter does not fit my card reader.

So, it will work, but not the best plan for a day's shoot. Could be a backup, provided my wife has not filled all her cards while we are out having fun.

    I hope this helps someone,

    Phil

    Re: SD/SDHC CF Card Adapter

It does, I was planning on getting one, but now I won't bother. Simple enough sticking with CF, and apparently not worth the cost. Thanks for the heads up.
