Santa bring you any photo gifts?

I bought myself a Visible Dust sensor cleaning kit but that was it. I think my family has learned not to buy me any photo equipment. I like to make those purchases myself.

I got a rocketfish 65" carbon fiber tripod, as did my dad. Yep, we got each other the same thing. Not bad for a bestbuy brand piece of equipment. Also got an adata 16gb sd card.

    film!!

santa brought me film. after wrapping up the holiday season, and 50 million holiday cards and edits and crazyness, santa thought film would be a nice break, and cure the digital burnout.

Sweet! What kind of film did you get Adina? I don't shoot film much now but I do still run through a roll or two every now and again. Something very peaceful about shooting and then letting someone else deal with all the post work.

Re: Santa bring you any photo gifts?

I didn't get any photo stuff, but then I got a little cash..........so if that counts, I'm still looking!

I'm looking forward to seeing some of the images from all of you that got some film. Hope you have a good scanner so you can share with the rest of us!

Does anyone have their prints/negatives digitalized - is that the right word? Or put on a CD?

Re: Santa bring you any photo gifts?

Santa brought me a McClamp which has lots of uses in Macrophotography - holding off-camera flash, reflectors and other accessories. He also bought me Rob Sheppard's book Adobe Camera Raw for Digital Photographers (Second Edition), so I have my reading cut out for me and I will now have to learn to shoot RAW more often and develop a workflow to process the images.

Cheers and Best Wishes for the New Year,

Ha! Yeah, but that's ok. I mostly shoot 400 ISO B&W, so four rolls of 100 ISO color film will probably last me all year.

    That guy brought me a Quantaray QSX 9502TM Tri-monopod, a Lowepro Flipside 200 case, and a Nikkor AF-S 35mm F/1.8 lens.

Not too bad of a day.

    Billingham man goes forth

I received a Billingham Hadley Large Black and Tan shoulder bag. This is primarily to use without the padded inner case as a work/computer bag in rush-hour trains and tramway, but I shall also use it as an in-town camera bag when I need more space than in the normal Hadley (I have three).

I also picked up a half-price Sandisk Extreme III 8GB CF card in the sale at Jessops. My Transcend 8GB card has been enough for any event with the D300 so far, but the Sandisk was cheap enough for me to pick it up as a spare. Plus it has downloadable recovery software included.

As I stated over in the Pentax forum, I got a Fuji 4 Gigabyte SD card for my Pentax, and a frame for the grandkids pictures. That was it "photographic".

Santa got me an early gift this year a Think Tank Airport International V2.0 roller camera bag. It got me through four airport last week with 2 camera bodies and seven lenses as well as all the related accessories with a minimum of stress and hassle. Thanks Santa!
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Got a Canon EF 50MM f/1.8 lens (you know, the "$99 special"). Now I just need to learn to do better indoor shots. With that and even my kit lens with IS I had a number of out of focus/fuzzy shots. Think it was too wide aperatures and/or autofocus points picking up everything but the right one.

Hubby bought me Pocket Wizards!!! Yay!!!
I've been dying to shoot OCF for so long!

And here is one of my first serious attempts.
My 18 year old daughter made this Papier-mâché Bear for me this Christmas.
I wanted to take a picture of it. So, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try out my other Christmas present, on a patient model who didn't mind sitting there while I messed around with my settings lol.
