    Red Bull photo competition
I love the idea of this competition !

''Once the clock struck midnight, the students were briefed on the categories and given their tools (a Holga© Camera and two rolls of film) with a twelve hour time limit to complete the task.''

''The Holga© camera was chosen for this competition, because it is known for its unpredictability, double exposures, and flare, which make it the nemesis of professional photographers. However, in this competition the goal was not to take photos that fit the seven categories, but rather photos that intentionally disobeyed the rules of each category.''

Category I – Adhere to the Rule of Thirds
Category II – Keep the Background Simple
Category III – Do Not Use Odd Cropping
Category IV – Shoot in Focus
Category V – Shoot an Obvious Focal Point
Category VI – Tell One Story in the Picture
Category VII – Avoid Negative Space

    Thanks for sharring this Paul!
Holga's are on their way to taking over the WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    :D :p ;)

Red Bull is quite the company to do such competitions. They are always looking for ways to be innovative.
I only wish that the photography competitions they do were open to photographers that aren't students..

    Re: Right On!
I asked, and they said htey had no plan to run this outside the USA :(
But I suppose there's no reason why we couldn't do something here on the same lines?
As long as we don't mention Red Bull, or Tunnel Vision.

I've already poseted a question "Which Holga?" to make sure I buy the right one :D

    Awesome!
Red Bull has become the coolest corporate event promoter on earth. They sponsor the most interesting athletes and don't just sponsor events - they create them. I'll have to drink a Red Bull tonight just to show my continued support :D

I like this photo contest a lot, too. Rulebreakers Rule!

Red Bull has signed on to sponsor a "downhill" mountain bike race here in Minneapolis that is going to take place in our skyway system that connects all the major downtown buildings together. Its supposed to go off this winter. I'm hoping it does cause that would have to make for some cool photos.

I've got an empty can on display here at my desk that I brought back from Vienna (where red bull comes from). Nothing really special about it other than most of the words on it are in German. Funny thing is that over there even in non-tourist restaurants on a menu that is otherwise completely written in German you will see "Redbull Energy Drink" written in English.
