    Product and Store rant...Lowepro-Cord Camera
I bought a Lowepro Compudaypack last year for my birthday (March). One of the selling points was it's warranty. Guaranteed for life. FOR LIFE!! Not guaranteed until the stock runs out but LIFE. One of the straps broke, I took it back to the store where I bought it, Cord Camera and they told me Lowepro doesn't make a bag like that anymore. I fail to see how that is my problem. So I called Lowepro. No problem, they have one left at the factory. So they agreed to ship it out to Newark Ohio to replace mine. Two weeks, so I waited three. No new pack. THis time Cord Camera said they wanted mine in return before they would order the replacement. Now, where I come from that is just bad business. I said, just give me my money back, replace it with one of equal value or something. NO was the answer I got. All I hear from people is how great Lowepro is. I am starting to think a little different.

No more lowepro for me. I'll be back on the phone with them on Monday.

Tyson, sorry to hear about this.
I do think you are more a victim of all the thieves out there who will call and say the same thing and just get themselves a new pack with nothing being wrong with the first.
Are you going to send the pack?
Of course, they should have told you had to send it in the first place.

I really hate when people pull crap like this, but it sounds like Cord Camera is where the anger needs to be focused, not Lowepro. I can understand them wanting to verify the validity of the claim, but they don't need to keep your current bag to do that, they just need to see it.

Take a nice picture of the defective area and send that to them, both parties.
bummer you are having grief with the product.

Good advice above that you should "escalate" with the store where you bought it. There are plenty of places online where you possibly could have bought it for less money, but this is one of those "value added" (corporate buzzwords  ) reasons to buy from a local store. Talk to the manager/owner if they're not getting the job done. It shouldn't be your responsibility to deal with the manufacturer.

If they don't make this particular bag anymore (and that one disappears) then that's not your problem. They'll probably try to fix it first which is their choice of handling the warranty, but worst case they should give you a similar brand-new bag. LowePro has made bags like that for many years (I had one I bought used and sold it about six years ago, for example). One way or another, the camera shop needs to see that it's fixed.
