    Post your P&S images here

I have found myself taking more photos now that I have a P&S to carry with me. I know there are many others here who carry a P&S with them when they don't want to carry a lot of equipment so show us what you use it for. Cell phone cameras count too.

I took this at work last week while on my lunch break.

Here are some shots of my dogs. Jinjer is the golden retriever, Holley is the black lab.

Great shots Michael, and great new thread. So I'll join in since that's all I shoot with right now...Kodak Z1012 IS. My granddaughter Alexis is starting to get into the "posing" for me phase, so I'm going to take full advantage. Here's my first one.

    Mike,

Great thread! Wow! That Lily is beautiful........every aspect. You did a wonderful job - beginning with the composition, I love the way you set the background. Along with this and the colors, the Lily really stands out - like 3D.

You have a couple of fine-looking dogs there, and you managed to capture some nice "still" shots, which isn't always easy with dogs (or for me, cats). However, my favorite is the 3rd one - the setting and background (along with the ball) make this shot a lot of fun too.

I'm glad you're enjoying your camera!

Great thread Mike. Now I have to dig the Fuji out of moth balls and meet your challenge.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Thanks for playing along Ken!

Thanks Liz. I'm really loving this camera. I took my entire DSLR kit with me today on a road trip, and only took it out of the bag twice for a total of about 25 shots. I took almost 3 times that many with the G9. It's so much fun.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with Larry.

Last photos with the G9, it's going in the bin.
Maybe you don't think a G9 is a P&S because it has all the manual controls?

I consider the G9 a P&S. I set mine on program mode and let it rip. I do adjust the exposure compensation, but I find full manual on cameras like this to be too much of a pain to deal with.

I always assumed that my Z 1012 IS was a p/s even though it has a full manual setting. But I agree with Michael...I find it too cumbersome to be useful, so I use either the auto mode or the Shutter or Aperture modes alot.

SW...great shots...it just shows that it's not the camera that makes a great shot...but the person behind the camera!!!

Re: Post your P&S images here

How about a stitched image from a P&S? Here is an image I created last night from 7 photos taken with the G9, hand held on Program mode. I used the Zoomify feature in Photoshop so you can see a much higher resolution version of the image.

Click here to view it. Use your mouse, or the buttons at the bottom of the window to scroll and zoom the image.

I haven't tried zoomify, but I already did a panorama using the G9 and put it in my gallery and in this thread my new playground.

Zoomify is a pretty cool tool to use. Here are a few more shots from the G9 from last weekends trip. These were all taken in the gardens behind the Paine Art Center (the building in the zoomify image above).

Her is one from my neighbors yard the other morning before I left for work. The way the light was hitting this tree really caught my eye. I wouldn't have taken a shot if I didn't have my P&S.

Re: Post your P&S images here

Question: do micro 4/3 count as P&S or not?
I would say not because they are larger sensors, exchangeable lenses, manual controls.
I'd also say the G9 isn't really P&S because of the manual controls.
But the quality difference shows, doesn't it?

    From today's rodeo.

I know there are more people than PAul and I who are taking photos with P&S's out there so lets see what you are doing with them.
