    Not for animal lovers: Squirrel

    Squirrel: bird feeder
    Or perhaps bird food.
Are Grey squirrels a pest in the USA too?

If you could idenitfy this Golden Eagle from the head and feet, I'm impressed.

Here's one I shot today. Hey Paul I'm not trying to be a wise guy posting these bad angle shots looking for ID's, it's that this is the best I took. This bird didn't stay around long I took two shots of what I think is the same bird ( shots are two seconds apart ) the back is a darker color and it looks like it may have a white bar on the wing.

Mike.... hard images are a big deal, though yours do make me think ;)

This image looks like a worn female american redstart to me. LONG tail , small bird(very emergetic, hence the 2 seconds)...... not too many birds like that besides gnatcatchers

OK...... I will play your game ;)

(1st 2 are HARRIS HAWK.... one of the very few raptors that hunt in groups )

WRONG!!!! This is a buzzard of sorts! maybe a long legged buzzard?

3RD is one of my favorite falcons(besides gyrfalcon) and it's a laughing falcon

As the 4TH image.... It appears to be a sub-adult bald eagle(about 3 years old)

Here is the only other shot I took of this bird, the bill in the first shot made me think Vireo. There have been a lot of Redstarts in this area.

There's lots more of those expressions.
He was amazingly light on his feet, after the hawk and buzzard.
Though he did need to be reminded of taxidermy when he refused to fly back to his post but wanted to be carried

Re: Post Your Bird Images Here!!!!!!!

Harris Hawk - "the labrador of falconry"
Buzzard - he worked quite well (Brian)
Spectacled Owl - little lightweight (Bandit)
Bald Eagle - boy was that guy HEAVY (Archie)

"Dangerous" Brian was a little silly, perching on thin branches, or wires insted of stout branches and poles. But he was wonderful to fly, swooping low to the ground.

Bandit was a little tart. Just sat around looking cute and not wanting to work for it.
He flew about half a dozen times.

    Golden Eagle

They remove the tail from the food because the birds don't eat them.
Just shred them and make a terrible mess with the fur

Some more from this weekend with a D70 and Sigma 50-500mm mostly set at aperture priority and f/16 with ISO 400. I think I know what these are, but please confirm.

Admittedly it is a Zoo picture. The bird wasn't real cooperative, but I liked the colors. I know generically what this one is by the way.

Well... 3 outta 4 isn't too shabby. When I edited the post, I was trying to change # 2

spectacled owl.. yeah ;) The head pattern to my dreary eyes looked like a falcon

Did you know that the biggest breeders of falconry birds( in the US) is in colorado. They breed gyrfalcon/ peregrine hybrids amoung others

I once seen an eagle owl flying around near the statue of liberty ;) The raptor trust(rehab) got it back to it's owner .

Congratulations Paul! Over 400 posts here!

You've been busy! I love these bird pictures. They are just great - so many birds I've never seen before, and so much great photography.

    Keep it up!
