    Michigan Coast

    I meant LAKE Michigan Coast.

Spent the weekend in Door County. Needed to get away. Badly.

    Seb ...

Looks like you found a beautiful place to get away to.

Nice shots. The lake looks a little angry. Like the colors in the lighthouse.

    Thanks for sharing

    Thanks Dave.

Forgot to mention, the tree/water shot is a tone mapped image made from three exposures 2 stops apart.

Very nice Seb! The first is beautifully processed and the second of the lighthouse really captures the intensity of the scene.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Thanks guys. It was not a photo trip, and shooting was way low on my priority list, but I was glad I got those two. THey're unlike anything I usually shoot, the change was welcome.

Hey, is that the Kewaunee light house?

Just barely surfable out there, but certainly worth a try. Thanks for sharing!

The second one is amazing,I have looked at it many times, without being able to express how it scratches some creative "itch:.

    Susaan,

Thanks for the kind words. I think I get a similar vibe form that shot. To me, it's the stark contrast between the dark but calm sky, the brightly lit lighthouse and how they clash with the chaotic earth-toned waves. The very defined separation is what does it for me, I think. Who knows.

I always knew you had some "scenic landscape" blood in you. These are GREAT!!!

Excellent tone mapping in the first and amazing calm and chaos in the second. Is the 3rd image a Holga shot?
