    photographed my first concert
    Sharing one, just for fun.

    I stuck with the 50mm f/1.8 and Nikon d300.

    ISO 3200, no NR.

It was fun. Different, but fun.

It is amazing quality for a 3200 ISO....my modest Oly barely holds around 800 LOL
    Nice shot

I actually think the overexposed parts add to the photo..
You must have been pretty close or this is seriously cropped.

yup, small venue in boston, I was a couple feet away. This is uncropped, pretty much right out of the camera, I just ran a filter from AlienExposure2, a plug-in I love very much :)

and yes, I continue to be impressed with the d300's high ISO capability. I shot with a 1d and rebel before making the switch, so the high iso performance is just a little better ;)

Brent, this is cool. I like the shot. You captured that live action moment and the technicals are all there and well. i know how hard this type environment can be. i have been shooting dance theater performances at various venues and some have good light set ups while others do not. Catching a moving subject in a very low light siutation is certainly a challenge.
I personally like the grain that happens in the higher iso range and found that i never use a filter. If its there, i leave it. i have learned to appreciate it.
    your image here looks great.
    nice work
