This year promises to be a good year as the moon will only be a few days past new moon. Find a dark site and enjoy!

Did Anyone See The Perseid's Last Night?
Clouds moved in and blocked my view, but before they did I saw a couple of spectacular ones. Looking at my images from last night, I caught two aircraft, three or four satelites, and one meteor. :-(

Did anyone else go out and watch them?

Speed - ha! I knew you'd show up!

We had totally cloudy skies and rain.

I hope you post your shots. Looking forward to seeing some.

I was out to watch them last nite ( ...sans camera), with a nice clear, dark sky, and was rewarded with several random bursts of streaking light, in a very short time span !!
Nature's fireworks at their best.

Normally we're in MI for them, but couldn't go this year. Sat in the yard last night but nothing was getting through Chicago's light pollution :(

I wasn't willing to drive into the hills at between 2:30am and 4:30 am when it peaked here.
We really need to do something about light pollution.

I was out with the dog a little after midnight and was looking around but didn't see anything. To many trees and lights in the area, I did see a lot of stars out so it was clear enough.
