Hi Paul, since you seem to be the resident animal expert, I'd like to ask if you have any ideas as to what mix my dog is? We kind of think border collie mix... maybe english setter? Maybe just heinz 57! :D

Could be part Labrador or Cattle Dog as well. It is hard to see with just a head shot.

Call it a Bitsa and be done with it.

Sorry, this is as close to full frame as I have at the moment... her tail is hidden, but it is sort of a "flag" type... long hair that waves in the wind when she holds it up. She's also mostly long-haired, white with some black spots in her fur, and her skin is covered with black spots. Anyway, she is a female, about 50 pounds, and yes, she loves to run in circles. :D She is pretty active for a 5 year old. The only thing that (we think) is highly unusual about her is her reaction when she sees people... she goes crazy to get their attention, then collapses at their feet and whines until they pet her. She even does that to us when we've only been gone a couple of hours! Thanks for the response... I've always been curious about her breed. :)

Yes, I forgot to mention that all of her brothers and sisters were predominantly black with white... much more typical of border collie, but since I got her at the humane society, they listed the lot as "mixed breed".

Oh... just found this in the description on the website you gave me... "Predominantly white Border Collies, though unusual, also occasionally appear". Thanks for the link!

I googled "white border collie" and found this pic...

This looks exactly like my Picabo, except for the fact that her ears don't stand up.

    Cool!

O.K., this is a poor quality photo, but it's the best I've got for now. Thanks Paul! :)
