    Paris
I got back a few days ago from fhe greatest vacation ever (for me, anyway). My girlfriend and I spent 5 days in Paris, 3 days in Belgium, and 3 days in the Netherlands. It was the first time for both of us to go over seas, and I only wish I'd done it sooner. I still have many photos to sort through and a few rolls of B&W to develop, but here's a few from Paris. I'll post more soon.

    1. Typical goofy angle shot of the Eiffel Tower (just to prove I was there).
    2. I think this street was in Montmartre.
    3. The Seine.
    4. Self portrait at Palais Royal.
    5. In Texas, we have Bud Light bottles...

    Thanks for looking!

I understand why you were so long responding in that other thread now. These are very nice. Love the street scene, it's so European. Hope to see lots more from your trip soon.

Sounds like fun. I really like the shot of the Eiffel Tower and the self-portrait. You should post that one in the self-portrait thread!

Traveling abroad is great, and you went to one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Paris.

    Belgium is great too.

Nice photos, and thanks for sharing your experience. Traveling is great.

AV, it was an incredible trip.

Alex, glad you like the goofy angle.

OT, I have several more of these street scenes, one of which I'm saving for the coup de grace. :wink5: Glad you like it.

Troy, I'll try to remember to add my self-portrait to the self-portrait thread. Thanks for mentioning it. I was in such a hurry last night I didn't even notice it.

Brian, ...Uh...I don't know how to tell you this, but... I didn't take the Holga. I know, I know, how many chances does one get to Holga Paris? The thing is, I haven't been very happy with the results I've been getting from it, so I decided I need to do some more experimenting before I devote that kind of precious time to shooting with it. I limited myself to two cameras...the D70s was obvious, and the Canonet (as my only RF) was necessary for the obligatory b&w street shooting in Paris. I put on my HCB hat for a while...didn't fit very well, but I forced it on. :D It may be a few weeks before I get to develop the film.

Loren, you're right about traveling and about Paris. I'm hooked now. My girlfriend and I are already talking about where to go next.

Thanks to all of you for commenting. I'm glad you like the photos. I highly recommend Paris to anyone who likes to travel. I found Parisians to be very pleasant and helpful people, despite what I've heard. I also enjoyed Bruges, Belgium very much. I'll start a new thread for that one, but I'll post more Paris photos first.

    Hi Paul,

The balls are part of a sculpture/fountain in the courtyard at Palais Royal. See wikipedia:

    Here are some more photos.

    1. My girlfriend Jenny, on the second level of the Eiffel Tower, with Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur in the blurry background.
    2. I was amazed at the clothing Parisians can wear and still ride a bike. If I tried that, the scarf would get tangled in the peddles and I'd end up strangled and run over at the same time. :p
    3. Pont Neuf.
    4. Somewhere along the Seine.
    5. Another street in Montmartre. This might be my favorite shot from the trip.

    Thanks for looking...again. :)
