    50mm f/.95 $10,000

    http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2008Sep...stLens,00.html

Now I want someone to get it and stick a sample in the 50mm lens war.

You can get one of these a lot cheaper.

In case you guys haven't read it yet, I wrote an article about the new Leica Noctilux 50mm f/0.95 lens. I did a bit of research and some math to determine the significance of the f/0.95 aperture. I suggest you read the article before you pull out your credit card ;)

Thanks for posting the price, Frog. It was consipicuously absent in the press release. I wonder why?

I think the Noctilux 1.0 is only $6000.00. But I also read there are focusing issues wide open.

Yeah, Greg....that won't fit my camera either. I'll just have to get by on my f/1.8.

I saw your article and it makes sense to me - they could use a little "press" about now. Fantastic company with an amazing legacy, but they seem to be having a hard time with this whole digital thing. Second only to Kodak, of course. I had suspected the price of it might become the #1 topic of conversation with this lens...
