I found this domesticated rabbit on my lunch break at a local park that is located pretty much in the hills of Simi Valley. I tried to catch him because I was afraid he wouldn't survive but a few days before dying of either dehydration or become easy prey for a hawk or coyote. But he wouldn't let me get close. I walked a few steps up the trail and saw another domesticated rabbit, a bit smaller with beautiful grayish color. I made a few smacking noises and snapped my fingers and he hopped right to me, so I took him back to work and let my boss take him up to her ranch. It appears that someone must have just dumped these poor rabbits and left them to die in the wild. At least I was able to save one of them.

OMG, you're the giver of cuteness! First your doggie, now this! And you're the cutest of all to take the time to do all that for him. Then I look over at your avatar again and think, geez you just eminate cuteness!

Shesells, I love animals but I'm not one of these people who puts animals on the same level as humans. I eat meat, would hunt if I had the time, I like to fish (not much time for that either), and would love to see PETA go belly up. Uh oh, am I opening up a pandora's box here?

But yeah, apart from all that I am a sucker for animals. :) I've even gone so far as to take in a pidgeon and nurse it back to health. My wife didn't like that idea one bit!

Thank you for rescueing the rabbit you did.
I hate it when people 'free' their domesticated rabbits. Why don't they just find them a new home, drop them off at a rabbit rescue place, anything other then serve up a death sentence?

I love the way his environment frames him in this shot, and the expression on his face.

A good example that having a lot of things going on in the fore- and background doesn't have to be distracting, actually it only makes this image stronger in my view. I think that we sometimes have to avoid to 'stage' everything in every detail. If I want to stage everything exactly the way I want it, then I open photoshop and start painting, that's the way I look at it.

What I also like about this image is the color tone; no colorization was needed to give this image a beautiful orange/brown look. I don't even mind the rabbit in the center of the shot and for me at least another example that these are nothing but guidelines.
