Finally took the next step, after 4 Canon Powershots, I've stepped up to a DSLR.

This doesnt mean I'll stop using my Powershots, they're quiet, powerful, and compact....

And here's what I've got coming so far:

Rebel XTi (Black)
Canon 18-55mm F3-5.6 (kit lens)
Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6
Canon EF 50mm F1.8
Hoya Multi Coated UV Filter for Each lens
4GB CF
Spare Battery
Generic Cable Release

I already have filter style conversion lenses that will fit the 50mm f1.8, a 2x tele and a 0.5x wide

I'd say you're definitely off to a good start.

Sounds like you'll be styling very soon Yuck :) Looking forward to seeing lots of great pics from the new DSLR! :D

You're powershot pics are great so I'm thinking your xti ones will be too.

Congrats on the new purchase - I remember how I was when I knew I was going to get the new camera, its a great feeling. And when UPS stops at your house with that big box:thumbsup:

edit - Just noticed you got my 500th post here - amazing how fast the posts pile up.

you'll have fun with bokeh and DOF, something you can't truly have on p&s's! also, dynamic range...uh oh, could this spell the end of the HDR? nah, probably not.
