Observing/Photo Opportunity
NASA is going to launch a rocket that is going to create artificial clouds. For those on the east coast, this should be quite an observing/photo opportunity.

Natually occurring noctilucent clouds are made of ice crystals, and are rarely seen this far south. It should be quite a sight!
Re: Observing/Photo Opportunity
I went out around 8PM after reading this at ~7. Well of course the launch was cancelled :)

that may help. It's also launching from VA Beach area, I don't know what the spread of the clouds will be.

Insteresting! Shades of Wilhelm Reich, perhaps.
Observing/Photo Opportunity - Update
NASA launched it Saturday evening. The wife and I were sitting in the hot tub when I saw it through the trees. We watched it climb above the trees, then it burned out. It was very bright and left a large fan-shaped plume behind it. Wish I had known it was going up at that time, I would have had my camera out. I hate it when a launch gets cancelled and you don't know when it's going to launch.
