    For NYC area people..
I was in K&M yesterday [Broadway location, below Walker St.] and they have ALL sorts of expired film for sale. Hey, it's fun for experimentation if nothing else. There was tons of Ektachrome 64T film - 35mm and 120 - as well as some Gold, Ilford XP, and some other sorts. Some was pretty old, and some was expired within the past few months.

    Just thought I would give you a bargain-bin heads-up!

Thanks for the heads up even though I probably won't get to the city. I use recently expired film quite frequently both B&W and color with normal results. I buy when I can and just store in the fridge. It might be interesting to see the color shifts on some older color film.

I'm also thinking to try some of Kodak new ultra color series hoping Adorama has it they have great film prices.

    Portra UC?
I used the UC once and was pretty pleased. I have to experiment a little more with it though before I switch over from VC completely.

No, its is based on the Portra series but is a new film called Ultra Color comes in 100 and 400 was just reviewed in shutterbug magazine. They say the colors pop are deeply saturated and skin tones remain natural and smooth.

    This might be old news...
I noticed Portra BW yesterday while film shopping.
The guy said it was really nice - it's a C-41 process.
So that would mean a little more expense for me at the lab, so I'll definitely *try* it but will most likely stick with Tri-X.
