    NY snaps.......
I had an appointment in NY today and then walked around for a while.

I asked this person if I could take his picture. He wanted $20 as he said "your camera looks like you're a professional so you could afford it." He settled for a bit less, but gave me "one second." I didn't get a good shot, but wanted to post it. The sun was very bright.

the second and third are great---I can't believe people can presume you can afford ridiculous fees by the type of camera you have...

Love the park scene...and the one couple in the only bit of shade! what a great shot...have you thopught of it as a BW just for the starkness of the sun and the couple in the shade it would have a lot of punch...do you mind if I have a go at it?

    Great shots Liz

    Nat.......
have a go at it? Of course I don't mind. I'd love to see what you can do with it.
BTW, you're not crazy - the 3 images were on the first post, and when I tried to edit something, I messed it up. So now they're in separate posts.

    Thanks.....looks good Nat
Thank you. You're so good! I like the b&w. I love NY! Especially in b&w. I didn't even think to try that.

When I posted this the first time it said it was too big, but it wasn't even 200k. I also had to make it smaller. So you had to make it even smaller? o..well........

Shaking down a nun! Hmmph! I think I would have just passed. Since you paid, he should have given you as much time as you wanted. Sheesh. But, I do like this shot a lot. And I like the b&w version of your people in the park picture too.

    Thanks Penny
    Hi Penny,
I thought of you a few times yesterday. I was looking for something interesting to shoot for you - that would jog your memories of NY. ;) But there was nothing too exciting in NY yesterday (until after I left when someone was shot apparently). :(

I was not energized much yesterday for some reason. I was very tired so I didn't stay around the city too long. Next time. Which..........hopefully will be within a week. ;)

    Thanks for your kind words.

I love seeing you getting into street candids, Liz. About that guy who wanted $20, I would have said, thanks no thanks, walked across the street, attached my long telephoto, and snapped to my heart's content. Nice work, my friend.

    Thanks All....it's so good
to be able to post some snapshots around here that aren't great and still get encouragement and kind words. Not that I'm hoping to get compliments, but some days are just like that you know!

BTW......the motorcycles were hanging from the side of the building with a slight raised ledge underneath - just thought someone might be interested in the show.
