It's for reasons like this I always carry a camera, and if I get a day's heads up I bring along some extra additions (namely the 70-200 f/2.8)

Yesterday at my place of employment (Sheridan College, Oakville, ON), the Hon. Lisa Raitt, MP Halton, and Minister of Natural Resources presented a plan that the Canadian Government is putting in place to create more student summer jobs in the public service field. Happened right on my lunch break.

I think they showed up because they knew there'd be a good photographer handy for those shots.which should be sold to the newspapers.
