What a "Sweet Piece of Glass"

I just bought the Nikon 80-200 f 2.8 AF-S, and I must say it is one "sweet of piece glass"!
    I focuses so fast!
I can't wait to use it next weekend at the Red Bull Rampage!
I bought it to replace my 180 ED IF, which I am selling..
Look for images from the Red Bull Rampage in the weeks to follow!

Congratulations on the new hardware :-)

Nikon's equivalent of the 70-200 f2.8L USM, and from all accounts everybit as good (or better if you're a Nikon advocate) and lightning quick too. I remember cradling my lens all day long the first day I got it, I was so infatuated with it. ;)

    Ebay Man!

I got it on EBAY, so it was a little cheaper, but not much....
My only hope now is that the weather improves down south for the Rampage!

Re: What a "Sweet Piece of Glass"

You're selling a 180 f/2.8? I've heard that the 80-200 lens is good, but the 180 manual focus is one of the sharpest lenses I have owned. Out of curiosity, just how much are you thinking?

I have the 180 AF ED-IF, not the manual focus. It is an EXCELLENT lens.
If you are interested in it, email or PM me.
    Thanks!

Congratulations, Brian. I had the 85mm 1.8 and sold it. I''ve been thinking about selling my 180mm 2.8 and buying the 80-200. How much bigger is it and do you notice a loss of sharpeness vs. the 180?

    Hey LL

I have shot with this particular lens before at last years Red Bull Rampage, so I think it is as equally as sharp. But I haven't shot with the one I just purchased. Look for images and a small write up regarding it and the Red Bull Rampage(that hopefully will happen this weekend, the weather here in Utah is kind of sucky at the moment) in the weeks to follow.
