    New Canon Powershot Pro 1
Has anyone had a chance to check this out yet? Seems awfully capable on paper. I'm thinking of selling one of my 10D's and the vertical battery grip to get one. My main reason is having to carry all that gear when I travel just to have the focal range that this camera offers, and the 8 mp image wouldn't hurt either, not to mention that the lens is an "L" lens. Any input would be appreciated.

I had the chance to try and handle all of the new 8Mp digicams(except the Minolta A2, which I don't like) at a pro shop in town. The Canon was surprisingly small, and even with my average-sized hands, felt too small. The balance also didn't feel quite right to me. All of the ones I handled had very similar specs(Canon, Nikon, Oly, Sony), but the one that "felt" best in my hands was the Olympus C-8080...shorter zoom range, but solid, with most shooting needs found on the body rather than buried in menus. My opinion, of course.

    Thanks Charles
Unfortunately, I don't have easy access to a camera shop out here in the foothills of the Sierras, so I rely on other people's input and reviews before going out on a limb and buying online. It might actually be a plus for me that the camera is small, as my hands are small, and I'm thinking small these days when it comes to packing camera equipment.
    Thanks for the input :)

    wow-thanks seb
not exactly a glowing review of the camera, although not scathingly brutal either. Think I'll keep both my 10d's for now and live with the extra weight.

That wasn't the point of my post Lionheart, browse the site, he reviews the other 8mp cameras as well and likes the Sony, give that one a look. I just wanted you to se that the Canon might not be the 8mp point and shoot of choice.
