I took a very few random shots and so far so good.

Maybe an interesting experiment would be to take the "same" picture with each camera....

G9, excellent choice. I shoot with a G7 myself (in addition to my 3 SLR cameras, Nikon D70s and F80, and a Pentax K1000)
